Each year, over 10people celebrate Christmas Eve at Orchard Hill with family and friends. Experience the journey to Bethlehem and the wonder of the birth of Jesus Christ. Be a part of this Pittsburgh tradition through story, song and message. When done right, the person opening the service can help raise the faith level of your church right before entering into worship.
The MC or whoever is giving the welcome can challenge the congregation to prepare their hearts to receive and get ready for what God’s going to do. Lake Pointe Church has physical campuses, each unique and serving a different area of our community.

A Holy Family Service In many liturgical traditions, the Sunday after Christmas is the celebration of the Holy Family. The emphasis on the Holy Family is a recent one, having originated in Canada in the nineteenth century and spreading since around the world. Make this Christmas memorable and meaningful. These simple, beautiful services focus our attention on the real meaning of the season. We read from the Scriptures, sing the favorite carols of Christmas accompanied by a string ensemble, and reflect on Jesus’ entry into the world. At the end of each service, the entire Sanctuary is filled with candlelight as we sing “Silent Night.
Communion is served by intinction (dipping a piece of bread into a chalice of juice and then eating it) while Christmas hymns are sung. The service ends with the congregational candlelighting. Ushers carry the flame from the Christ candle on the altar to the people seated along the aisles.
Christmas at Highlands was full of worship, prayer, and celebration as we honored the birth of Jesus Christ.
