National Community Development Services (NCDS) provides fundraising expertise and management to community and economic development organizations across the United States. Schools and student groups who make service a priority play an important role in motivating community involvement. Service clubs, honor societies, greek organizations, academic groups, and campus events are all invited to apply.

Each group member activates an InnerView account and contributes their service hours individually. CNCS works with governor-appointed state commissions, nonprofits, faith-based groups, schools, and other organizations to provide opportunities for Americans of all ages to serve their communities. Our School Based members are committed to community service , supporting the public school system and the individual student by engaging families, teachers, community members and corporations in education.

The American Community Survey (ACS) helps local officials, community leaders, and businesses understand the changes taking place in their communities.

It is the premier source for detailed population and housing information about our nation. Authorized by the Older Americans Act, the program provides training for low-income, unemployed seniors. Participants also have access to employment assistance through American Job Centers.

Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed. NALC’s long-time commitment to community service is evident at every level, from the letter carriers who organize and participate in numerous charitable events to the coordinated efforts by NALC Headquarters that help the collective efforts of letter carriers have a strong, consistent impact on the national level. Chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community ’s needs and selecting appropriate non-profit organizations to serve.

Each Chapter then supports its philanthropic service partners through different volunteer activities.
