To replace the damaged spoke , first remove your wheel and then the tire, tube and rim tape. Then remove both ends of the damaged spoke and nipple. Spokes usually break either at the nipple or at the hub flange.

If a spoke broke, or if the wheel got bent, the spokes are still in the same adjustment as they were before. Replacing the broken spoke will often bring a wheel back into true. Restoring a bent rim is much easier if you start by leaving the spokes as they are, as a guide. Spoke wheel lacing and truing can be a time consuming and frustrating proposition for the inexperienced.
Frame Straight offers a solution for spoke wheel dent repair, re-lacing , restorations or simple true and tune. First, the spoke wheel is trued in the traditional way.
Once the rim is true and the spokes are uniformly tightened. An of course, we also love dogs (especially Blizzar pictured helping us deliver bikes)! The spoke stays there, held by the rim nipple and the crossing of other spokes, but it might flail around and worst case catch on the frame or chain. That said - braking is mostly done with the front wheel , so a get-home fix is to widen the back rim brakes or undo them completely allowing the possibly distorted rim room to turn.
